No-exam life insurance
Eligibility criteria for expedited underwriting, the process if you qualify, and what happens if you don't.
Several carriers now provide accelerated underwriting: if you fall within their age and amount parameters, they make a decision from your application, pharmacy records, driving history and other records—no exam needed. Some decisions arrive within hours. Every quote here indicates whether that carrier's product requires an exam, may require one, or does not.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no underwriting—your answers are still checked against available records. A policy issued based on false information can be challenged for the first two years. If the carrier's checks uncover concerns, they may request an exam or labs anyway; you can then decide whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually applicants in their fifties or younger, seeking coverage within the carrier's accelerated-underwriting cap, with no serious health events and no tobacco use for the past year or longer. Some carriers will accept recent medical lab results from your doctor instead of ordering a new exam.
Should an exam be necessary, it typically takes 20 to 30 minutes, conducted by a paramedic at your home or workplace in the Temecula area, at no charge. For healthy applicants, exam results often lead to a better rate class, so exams are not always unfavorable.
