Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. To compare carrier rates, the quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, health status, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length—six answers to get carrier quotes returned. Personal details like your name, address and full health history are only requested if you choose to proceed with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
They are the rates each carrier quotes for the health class you select. Your actual premium after underwriting may differ—the carrier may confirm, improve or adjust your health class based on their review. This site presents quotes only; nothing here is a guarantee of any particular rate or coverage.
What happens when I click Apply?
You provide your name and move into a secure online application hosted by the carriers' platform, pre-filled with the answers you gave. You can pause and resume, and you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage and your answers. Many term policies now offer immediate decisions for eligible applicants without an exam. Each quote on this site shows whether an exam is required, possibly required or not required for that carrier and product.
Is a longer term better?
A term length should match the years when losing your income would create the biggest financial hardship—whether that's a mortgage, children at home, or a business loan. Longer terms lock in a rate for more years but cost more monthly. The quote tool lets you compare 10-, 15-, 20-, 25- and 30-year terms side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not collect contact details, we don't sell or share visitor data, and our first-party measurement system is cookieless and respects Do Not Track settings. The site also incorporates a cookieless page-view beacon supplied by the content delivery provider, which doesn't respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control but is designed to store no personal identifiers. See the privacy policy for the complete list of what is collected and who can access it.
